ABOUT ME
Ciao! My name is Gianna Paterno and I am an Italian teacher.
I was born and raised in Folgaria, a small mountain town in Trentino. After attending high school specializing in foreign languages, I studied Languages and Cultures for Tourism at the University of Verona for my Bachelor's Degree. I subsequently completed a Master’s Degree in Intercultural Development of Tourism Systems at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice.
In 2014 I moved to Denmark to do an internship through Erasmus Placement at the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen where I pursued the idea of teaching Italian to foreigners. I presented my Master’s thesis on Danish tourism in Italy and the importance of intercultural communication in different Italian classes.
Meeting and working with the students, I realized I wanted to become an Italian teacher for foreigners and I went back to studying. In 2017 I passed the DITALS Level I exam at the University of Siena and I started teaching Italian at FOF København, at the Italian Cultural Institute and AOF Herlev.
Over the years I have taught more and more classes at different levels, meeting students interested in the Italian language not only for traveling, but also for business and for love.
In 2020 I opened my Italian school "Italiano per te" to teach privately to individual students and small groups both face-to-face and online.
